Orchestras

  • Amsterdam Community Orchestra

The ACO hosts regular seasons across an annual calendar, each with a new and exciting theme. From film scores, to well-known instrumental classics and everything in between, you’re sure to find something that fits your taste or preference in our upcoming seasons.

  • Mozartorkest

Philharmonic Orchestra Mozart, founded in 1878, is the oldest symphony orchestra in Amsterdam. We play symphonic works at the highest possible level. Always with pleasure and enthusiasm. The orchestra consists of advanced amateurs, former conservatory students and professional musicians, including the conductor and the concertmaster.

  • Beethovenorkest

The orchestra consists of enthusiastic (amateur) musicians with a high playing level. Before a concert, we study the program in a limited number of weekend days. We consider ourselves very sociable, accessible and friendly. But... let's be honest... we are critical. Because we really want to maintain our high level.

  • Orkest Siempre Animato

Semper Animato is a semi-professional project orchestra, consisting of professional musicians and talented amateurs from all over the country, which tours abroad annually in varying compositions. In recent years, the orchestra and conductor have given successful concerts in Hungary, Sweden, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Germany and various places in the Netherlands.

  • De Philharmonie

Symphony Orchestra The Philharmonie was founded in 1999 and consists of - depending on the programming - more than seventy musicians. In the spring and autumn they give two concerts, one in Amsterdam (for example in Muziekgebouw aan het IJ, Paradiso or the Zuiderkerk) and one at varying locations outside Amsterdam.

  • Orkest Con Brio

Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra Con Brio is a contemporary symphony orchestra founded in 1934 . The orchestra has been led by chief conductor Willem de Bordes since 2012 . Con Brio features around 45 experienced musicians of all ages from Amsterdam and the surrounding area. The orchestra distinguishes itself from other symphony orchestras by choosing (modern) music that is not often played, young soloists and unusual concert locations in Amsterdam.
